Evaluation

By Emma Hall

  • In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

  • How does your media product represent particular social groups?

  • What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

  • Who would be the audience for your media product? How did you attract/address your audience?

  • What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Here are some examples of me using three techniques on Adobe Photoshop:

  • Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Looking back over the process, I think I would probobly spend more time on my photography, if doing the project again, particularly on my contents page, just to get them to the same standard as on the other pages, and maybe experiment more with the camera settings to get the images as clear and detailed as possible. I think some of my contents page photographs lack quality because my photoshoot plans near the beginning of the process were not as well thought out and co-ordinated as they were towards the end. I would also try and find a programme that formats text better than on Adobe, which doesn't allow you to spread text evenly along a text box, making text wrapping difficult, especially on my DPS, which took up a lot of my time. I think I would also try and use a greater range of ages in my model choices, and use some male images to get a wider spread of representations, and appeal to a wider, more open audience.
